Hey Bestie,
Quick story:
A few months ago, my Reels were averaging:
318 on a good day (cue sad violin)
I was putting in so much effort:
perfect captions, trending audios, carefully edited visuals…
And still?
Crickets.
Then I got tired. Lazy, even.
So I tried something else:
I stripped everything down.
No edits. No music. No filters.
Just me, my phone, and a single raw idea.
And guess what happened?
🚀 With less work.
Let me break down what changed and why lazy, low-effort content can often outperform your best work.
1. I stopped trying to go “viral.” I just tried to be useful.
Before:
I was trying to impress. Entertain. Perform.
Now:
I ask one question before every post:
“If my best friend asked me this, how would I answer it in 30 seconds?”
That’s it.
No script.
No setup.
Just value, straight from the front camera.
Because here’s the truth:
People don’t share perfection. They share clarity.
2. I used the most powerful storytelling format: “You know when…”
My laziest, highest-performing hook ever?
“You know when you post something you love… and it gets 6 likes?”
It’s low-effort because it’s relatable.
The “you know when…” format instantly makes people feel seen.
You don’t need fancy graphics.
You need a sentence that makes people say:
“Omg that’s me.”
3. I reused my best ideas, again and again
I used to think I had to come up with something brand new every day.
Now?
If a post got 300 likes, it gets to come back:
Same idea → New format
Same story → Different hook
Same message → Rewritten for a different vibe
I literally copy-paste my old captions, tweak a few words, and post again.
Lazy? Yes.
Smart? Also yes.
Effective? 1000%.
The internet forgets fast. So remind it.
4. I simplified my filming setup to 30 seconds
Before:
Ring light
3 takes
Music syncing
Exporting, captioning, thumbnail
Now:
Phone.
Front camera.
One take.
Post.
Done in under a minute.
And you know what? People loved the simplicity.
Because it felt real.
Not like content but like a friend talking to you.
5. I posted more, thought less
The lazy version of me doesn’t overanalyze:
“Is this hook good enough?”
“Will people care?”
“Should I wait till 6PM?”
Nope.
I write. I post. I move on.
And here’s the paradox:
The posts I cared the least about?
Often performed the best.
Because I wasn’t trying to prove anything.
I was just trying to connect.
Final thoughts
Here’s my “lazy content” system:
Use raw, talking-head videos
Start with “you know when…” or “ever felt like…”
Reuse your greatest hits
Keep filming + editing under 1 minute
Post → Let go → Repeat
